Reclaimed wood headboard for a divan bed
THE CARDIFF adds natural timber character to your bedroom. Handmade from solid reclaimed scaffold boards in our UK workshop, this wooden divan headboard can be sized to suit your bed and finished to complement your room.
Legs and fitting
Legs are included; screws for securing the headboard to your divan base are not included. Use screws suitable for your bed base and check its fixing positions before ordering. Send us your base measurements and fitting requirements if you need a bespoke arrangement. If you are unsure how to secure it safely, ask a competent installer.
Sizes and example dimensions
Choose the width shown in the product selector. We can also discuss custom sizes for single, double, king and super king beds. Bed-size names vary, so measure your base and compare the actual width before purchasing.
The original example is 160cm wide, 100cm high and 4cm deep, with 35cm from the ground to the bottom of the headboard and an approximate weight of 10kg. These dimensions describe the example rather than every size option. Contact us to confirm your preferred height, leg clearance and any cut-outs.
Timber and finish
Made from reclaimed solid European whitewood scaffold boards, with natural grain, knots and rustic marks. Each piece has individual character. The original image is described as Georgian Medium Oak; choose from the finishes currently offered in the selector or ask us about a different colour.

Before ordering
Check the width, fixing positions and desired height above your mattress. Tell us about skirting boards, sockets or other obstructions that affect the design.
Choosing your options
Length: Single (90cm), Double (135cm), Queen (120cm), King (150cm). Finish: Jacobean Dark Oak, Natural Danish Oil, Natural Clear Wax. Confirm your selected option against the photographed example dimensions before ordering.

Build time and delivery
Our standard build time is around 4 weeks, followed by an estimated 1–4 working days for delivery once your furniture is complete. These are estimates; courier delays can occur.
For bespoke orders, we will provide an expected timescale. Multiple-item orders may take longer. If you need your furniture by a particular date, contact us before ordering.

Our workshop is based in Southampton, and collection from this location is free.
UK shipping prices are for mainland UK only and do not include the Scottish Highlands, remote islands or Northern Ireland. Please get in touch for an accurate cost in these areas.
We use a variety of larger parcel companies as well as trusted private couriers. They will contact you to confirm your availability before delivery.

Maintenance
With a little care, the furniture will last for many years. The oils help protect the surface from stains and water residue, while each piece of reclaimed wood retains its own character.
When selecting boards from our stock, we choose those that we would be happy to have in our own homes.
The appeal of reclaimed wood is its natural feel and rustic character. Small marks—including company branding, abrasions, colour variation, cuts, notches and dents—may remain where they add to the furniture’s appearance.
Do not leave water standing for long periods. Use a clean, damp cloth to wipe up spills.
